Congrats to the participants of the Learn To Hunt program. There were 14 youth participants. Many thanks to the Wisconsin DNR Learn to Hunt Turkey Program, Travis Ebner, and the mentors who helped make the program happen.
We introduce youth to shooting sports and safe firearm handling under the supervision of hunter safety instructors and mentors.
We provide youth between the ages of 8 and 18 the opportunity to try different shooting activities. Firearm shooting and pheasant hunting is open to youth ages 12-18. Youth over the age of 12 that have completed the WI DNR Hunter Safety course can participate in a guided pheasant hunt with a dog and mentor. Youth under the age of 12 are limited to archery, air rifles and other activities.
We are a 501-C3 organization. Our events are FREE to youth and their families. We depend on donations to cover the costs of ammunition, targets, t-shirts for the participants and other supplies. All donations are tax-deductible.
Sponsors are welcomed and needed! Sponsors making a $250 donation will be named on a shooting venue, such as a pistol range. Sponsors making a $500 donation will be named on one of the pheasant hunting fields. All donors will be recognized on a sign at the venue they are sponsoring, on a sponsors' board at the registration area and in the Rice Lake Chronotype newspaper after the event.
